All Hexes Chess games have one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights and three bishops per player. Hexes Chess 4P3 has four pawns per player. The pieces are set up a bit differently than on the on the Hexes 4-Pawn chess board. Set up your chess pieces as illustrated below.
